Atelier Vago is a creative duo rooted in Tuscany, working across architecture, design, and visual arts. Founded in 2022 by Carlotta Di Sandro and Cecilia Marcheschi, the studio grew out of a shared professional experience that nurtured their common perspective and sensibility.
The practice defines itself as a meeting ground for different languages and methodologies, where each project becomes an opportunity for research and experimentation. Every imagined space is designed to be welcoming yet surprising, bringing together forms, colors, and materials in unexpected ways. Bold color palettes, material contrasts, and meticulous attention to detail recur throughout their work — not as mere decoration, but as tools for telling stories and giving character.
Their projects, ranging from interior design to renovations, from private homes to bespoke furniture, grow out of an artisinal sensibility and a preoccupation with context. Sketches, photographs, models, and collages interact throughout the creative process — not only to visualize ideas but to spark ongoing exploration.
Each project begins with attentive listening to the client’s needs and develops through the intertwining impulses of intuition and technique.
For Atelier Vago, architecture is also a reflection on how spaces take shape: how materials relate, endure, and transform over time, shaping everyday experience. It is a process that requires imagination, precision, and the willingness to constantly challenge initial solutions until the final one emerges.
For Cecilia and Carlotta, designing means creating connections, giving voice to places, preserving memories, and generating emotions.
